Milliken cushionback carpet tiles work for raised access flooring. Raised access flooring while providing a neat solution towards servicing office space brings with it background drumming and reverberate sound which will for obvious reasons not occur on the finished floor surfaces on a concrete subfloor.

Typically sound absorption on generic gel or vinyl backed carpet tiles falls into category E ISO 354 when compared to category D achieved by cushion backed carpet tiles.

So while for now raised access flooring is almost an absolute requirement for an open plan office it does mean its necessary specification needs to be in place.

To counter balance new factors arising: -

• Drumming on footfalls

These factors compromise the office environment to such an extent that an otherwise high tech office environment becomes "basic" as regards its own inherent performance.
