- When using tear away tack mats, during the rip-up stage literally hundreds of thousands of particles are redistributed back into the atmosphere, where they are free to enter the critical area and risk damage to products and processes whereas with Footfall washable tack mats all contamination is kept at floor level during cleaning as it is trapped with the detergent and water solution (easy care wipe clean).
- Static change occurs during rip-up of peel-off mats (5,000 volts)
- Adhesive carry over from peel-off mats is transferred into critical areas on feet and wheels.
- Peel-off mats are not effective where wheeled traffic is present as they are too small and can wrap around wheels.
- When peel-off mats are laid in sequence they harbour contaminants in the gaps between them.
