At Footfall, we take road safety very seriously & treat it as an integral part of how we conduct our business. Driving while fatigued is a major danger which can have devastating outcomes. It has been reported that 1 in 4 drivers have said that they struggle to stay awake while driving, with it being 1 in 5 of the major reasons for traffic accidents each year. Furthermore, tiredness-related collisions are 3 times more likely to be fatal or result in a serious injury because of the high impact speed and lack of avoiding action. A survey conducted by the RSA found that motorists who drive as part of their work, had a higher than average incidence of falling asleep at the wheel. It is estimated that 1 in 3 road collisions every year involve people who were driving for work at the time of the collision.
Footfall installers often have to work out of hours or late into the night in order to minimise business disruption for our clients. We reduce the risk of driver fatigue occurring by always providing overnight accommodation for our installers after a late shift in order to ensure their safety and the safety of other road users.
